We had a delightful Christmas! Dave's company closed down fracking Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the kids were spoiled rotten, and the inlaws came for a visit Christmas night. It was the first year in all our married lives that we've had Christmas morning at our house, which is a tradition I'd like to repeat. We enjoyed spending time with family and friends Christmas Eve and Christmas day but it sure was nice to have our own little lazy Christmas morning.
The downside to a quieter Christmas was no one to help with the cooking. I come from a big extended family and food is an integral part of every holiday. But lots of hands make the cooking less of a task and many hungry mouths make for few leftovers. With just me I spent a whole lot of the holiday cooking and have a fridge full of leftovers!
