Birthday time of year!

Today is Alex's 1st birthday - where does the time go?  We had cake and ice cream for him on Sunday and since he loves dogs, celebrated today by visiting Aunt Michelle & Uncle Landis' new puppies.

  

A little about my 1 year old...Alex is my quiet observer. His favorite past time is watching Ben and he thinks his brother is hilarious.  When Alex was smaller, he'd growl back and forth with you - now he prefers a yelling match. He's only just started crawling backwards and scooting on his bum.  Mostly, he's content to sit all day, observe the world around him and play with toys.  He is a great eater, and usually out eats his brother.  He is also a good sleeper, but only if he has his his favorite blanket to cuddle with.  Alex is  a mellow, content boy and we feel lucky he's part of our family.

We had Ben's 4th birthday a couple of weeks ago.  Four seems very big (especially to Ben, he reminds us daily that he's big now.)  Ben is a great helper - he loves to help with Alex and with cooking and cleaning.  His favorite things to do are ride bikes, play with cars, watch movies and fight his dad.  He would live off of cold cereal and yogurt if we let him.  Ben loves playing with other kids, especially his best friend Sawyer.  Self-entertainment is not his forte, and he's always asking for someone to play with him!  Ben is the class clown and loves to be silly and make people laugh. He is a sweet, funny, inquisitive boy and we love to watch him learn about the world!

I love my boys and can't imagine life without them! Happy birthday Ben and Alex.
