History Highlights

Besides our Jamestown and Yorktown day, a visit to the Virginia Historical Society, Agecroft Hall (Tudor mansion dating back to the 1400's that was shipped over from England in the early 1900's), and the Smithsonian (Air and Space and American History museums) rounded out my strategy to convert Dave to Virginia through its history.

Virginia Historical Society:

Agecroft Hall:

In front of one of the original windows from the house with the family seal.  Loving my ergo and the sleeping hood!

Outside in the gardens, also designed true to tudor style.  These were pretty extensive and beautiful, with a view of the James.

Closeup of the house. It's in the middle of this beautiful neighborhood in Richmond and Dave and I decided that if we ever made it big, this neighborhood is where we'll live.

Smithsonian:

I thought this was really cool a boat that was sunk during some war fought on this continent (wish I could remember which) and was only relatively recently (last 25 years?) excavated.  Sounds really fascinating when I tell it that way, I know.

So funny - they had this loop of world war II propaganda looney tune films - and Ben was mesmerized.  I had to drag him away.
