Ben has been picking up the funniest expressions lately. "Oh nuts!" is the catchphrase of the month. He says it in response to everything that happens, good or bad. I much prefer it to last month's pick of "What the..." That term left too much unsaid for my sweet little 3 year old. "Oh nuts" cracks me right up.
And I could use a little humor since I've reentered the sleep deprivation of the newborn phase. Alex's stinking helmet bothers him a good bit at night, as apparent by the 3-4 times he wakes. I've been thinking lately that a flat head may not be so bad after all. If it wasn't for the massive amount of money it cost us, I'd be sorely attempted to abandon the idea all together and encourage him to wear his hair long his whole life. The comments and stares don't help either. He wore it to church for the first time yesterday and I must have had 6 grownups say "what's the matter with him" or something to that regard. Wouldn't you think that adults could phrase that question with a little more compassion, or even better not ask? Yep I'm a little sensitive. I was bound and determined to tell the next person that asked that Dave kept dropping Alex on his head, so I got a helmet to protect him.
Ben's quote of the day: (Ben telling me about his day)... and everyone was my friend today..nobody hit me, nobody kicked me.
