Roly Poly

The imagination of a 3 year old never ceases to amaze me.  At different times today, Ben pretended to be a roly poly, the dad, toothless the dragon, a baby, a monster and superman.  And that's only a very small selection of all the roles he plays.  I myself am getting quite good at playing the son.

We squeezed in some outside time, in between rain storms.  I even managed to tear up the outside carpet on our patio that's been plaguing me for years.  And I killed 3 huge black widows it's been harboring!

I tried Alex in the exersaucer today.  He was a little on the wobbly side:)  Poor Alex doesn't get much blog time.  Despite that, he's very cute and full of smiles and laughs.  Alex is an easy, pleasant baby.

Ben loves to artfully arrange things into crashes.  Here's his masterpiece of the day.

We went to a church activity tonight - pizza and decorating pumpkins.  Dave bailed to watch a UFC fight with some buddies but redeemed himself by bringing me home a slurpee.  That's our 2nd pumpkin decorating activity of the year and I think we have one more planned before Halloween.  I much prefer painting to carving.

That face is from Ben shaking his helicopter (he wanted me to make him one from pipecleaners).  His pumpkin is behind him, complete with black paint and pom poms.  Note the backwards shirt, same pants he wore yesterday and a rubber glove on one of his feet (under his shoe).  Clearly some days the battle to make Ben look presentable isn't worth it.

I shot a little video of Ben singing and playing the piano.  Talented?  That remains to be seen.  But he's definitely enthusiastic.

Ben's quote of the day:  When I grow up and leave your house, that'll be sad huh?  (That will be sad!  Good thing I have many years before I have to worry about that one.)
