Shameless Shutterfly Promotion!

I heard from a friend that Shutterfly was doing this promotion where if you wrote about how great they are in your blog, you could get 50 free photo cards.  Since it's one of the few times a year I send out cards (I never did get Alex's birth announcements done!), I thought what a perfect opportunity to save some money for only a little effort on my part.  It's like getting paid to blog, right?  And from what I hear, Shutterfly is great, so it isn't even false advertising or compromising my principles. I've also been planning on doing some photobooks for Christmas, too, and heard that Shutterfly had some amazing deals on photobooks, so thought blogging about Shutterfly would be a great way to learn more about their photobooks.  I'm completely given up on paper scrapbooking and seeing how most of my pictures are digital, it's high time I do something about printing them off so in 20 years my kids don't have complexes because I never took any pictures of them.

To get started, I checked out the photo cards Shutterfly has and I was pretty impressed.  I usually use Costco, and their selection is a lot more limited.  Here's the one I like the best, and I'll be sending out this year (my favorite).  I like it because it allows you to include a whole slew of pictures so I can do a 2010 in review.  They have all kinds of other products too, like calendars (promotion right now for 50% off the 2nd) and photo mugs.  And they even have thank you cards that you can personalize with photos so maybe I can get my act together this year and actually start sending them out - no creativity required.  At less than $1 each, that's a whole lot cheaper than the non-personalized Hallmark versions.  Thanks to Shutterfly, my nearest and dearest will be getting some pretty stellar Christmas cards this year!
