Anyone that's spent much time talking to me (or reading my blog) in the last couple of months knows how I feel about Alex's helmet. I detest it. Dave and I decided to give it a rest for a few days because it seems to be mishaping the front of his head now. In its absence, I discovered 2 things I quite like about it. 1 - it protects Alex's head. Dave says I'm a clutz. Maybe he's right - I banged his head on a wall at least one time today and there was nothing to soften the blow. Poor Alex. 2 - it doubles as a bike helmet. I don't know about the rest of you but it seems completely pointless to put a bike helmet on a baby's head. The smallest I've been able to find (toddler ones) are a bad fit and tend to make my babies mad. I ended up putting Alex's helmet back on for our bike ride. That worked out much better.
I assure you, the things I hate about it are a much longer list!
Never really thought about this. I would love to protect my children's heads. I have bumped their heads many times. I didn't see any difference in the front of his head when I had him. Must be something new?! But then again I never took it off. Isn't he almost done?
ReplyDeleteKrista - now I think we're just paranoid - he's back to wearing the helmet full time. He goes in again on Tuesday, but I expect it'll still be a few more weeks. It is looking a lot better shape wise but still has a little flat spot.
